As part of my continuing delve into the good old analogue days, after seeing a great documentary about the brilliant Jane Bown, I’ve dug out my Nikon FM2. I had previously used my older square/120 format cameras, Yashica Mat and the Bronica SQB, to emulate Vivian Maier, which resulted in the portraits of Shell and Murphy and Ain Bailey.
Apparently Jane Bown’s preferred settings when using 400 iso film, were 60th of a sec at f.2.8. So I’m endeavouring to stick to that using available light to take some portraits. Am using HP5, so will let you know how it all goes.
